Our Story
Once upon a time, in the warm embrace of a sunlit corner on a spiral staircase, I’d sit beside my grandmother Victoria, her gentle hands guiding me as I braided her hair. She shared stories from her remarkable life—a life defined by strength, love, and dedication. Grandma was a fierce yet loving spirit who birthed ten children and raised thirteen, balancing her roles as a business owner and devoted homemaker with grace and resilience.
Growing up, my holidays were filled with joy in her embrace. Those summers were spent surrounded by family, anchored by Grandma’s love. She would proudly take us to church and local gatherings, showcasing her deep pride in us, treating us as her treasures and teaching us the power of family bonds.
Years later, my immediate family moved to America, but Grandma remained our connection to home, bringing a sense of warmth and belonging with each visit. In 2009, after losing her lifelong partner, my grandfather, she moved in with us permanently, becoming a cherished presence in our lives once again. By 2017, however, we began to notice signs of change—a defiance and forgetfulness we hadn’t seen before. Slowly, the vibrant heart of our family was confronted with the challenges of dementia, and the memories that once flowed so freely began to fade.
Watching her journey was painful, yet her enduring strength and love inspired me deeply. I realized that the values she had instilled in me—compassion, dedication, and the importance of family—could be the foundation for something meaningful. Driven by the legacy of her spirit, I felt called to create Gracious Touch Home Care, an agency focused on compassionate, respectful dementia care.
At Gracious Touch, we honor the dignity of those we serve, creating an environment that fosters warmth and love. Just as Grandma made each of us feel cherished and valued, our mission is to provide the same care and respect to families navigating the challenges of dementia.
